We take privacy seriously — and we think you should be able to understand exactly what we do with your information without needing a law degree to follow along. This policy explains what data we collect when you register your interest in Do The Room, how we use it, and what your rights are.

When you register for the Room One Club waiting list, we collect the following:

Registration information (Step 1):

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Country of residence
  • City or town

Optional profile information (Step 2):

  • Home ownership status
  • Property type
  • Number of rooms you are considering transforming
  • Your intended timeline for a home refresh
  • Your approximate budget for the room
  • Age range
  • How you heard about us

Technical data collected automatically:

  • The URL or source that referred you to our page (where available)
  • Basic device and browser information collected by our hosting platform
  • Cookie data, as described in Section 7 below

We do not collect payment information, government identification, or sensitive personal data as defined under Article 9 of the UK GDPR.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information you provide for the following purposes:

a) To manage your pre-registration

To add you to the Room One Club waiting list, communicate with you about your application, and notify you when Do The Room opens.

Lawful basis: Consent — you provided your information voluntarily for this purpose.

b) To understand our audience

The optional questions in Step 2 help us understand who our founding members are, so we can shape the product and experience accordingly.

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests — improving our product based on aggregated, anonymised audience insights. You are never required to provide this information.

c) To send you updates about Do The Room

We may send you occasional updates about our launch, the Room One Club, and the Do The Room product. Every communication will include an unsubscribe option.

Lawful basis: Consent — by registering, you are indicating interest in hearing from us. You may withdraw consent at any time.

d) To comply with legal obligations

Where required by applicable law.

Lawful basis: Legal obligation.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We work with the following categories of service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Supabase Inc. — database and data storage (our form responses are stored securely via Supabase)
  • Lovable Technologies — our website hosting and infrastructure provider
  • Email service providers — used to send communications to registered members

All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements and are required to handle your data securely and in accordance with applicable law.

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or regulatory authority.

5. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed by service providers located outside the United Kingdom, including the United States. Where this is the case, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent mechanisms approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We will retain your pre-registration data for as long as necessary to manage the Room One Club launch and your membership relationship with us.

Specifically:

  • If Do The Room launches and you become a member, your data will be governed by a separate membership privacy notice provided at that time
  • If you unsubscribe or request deletion before launch, we will erase your data within 30 days
  • If Do The Room does not launch within 24 months of your registration, we will delete all pre-registration data and notify you by email

You may request deletion of your data at any time — see Section 8.

7. Cookies

Our landing page uses a small number of cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the registration form and site functionality to operate. These cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies: Our hosting platform may collect anonymised data about page visits and traffic sources. This data is aggregated and does not identify you individually.

You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the registration form.

8. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
